Compact moduli spaces of $K3$ surfaces

Abstract: I will discuss several recent results, most of them joint with Philip Engel, that relate functorial, geometrically meaningful compactifications of moduli spaces of $K3$ surfaces with toroidal and semi-toroidal compactifications.
